WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS OR DENTAL BRIDGES?

Your child will build confidence and positive feelings about seeing the dentist. We will check to make sure you are cleaning and caring for your child’s teeth properly. In addition, we can advise you on the appropriate amount of fluoride to use. Because “baby teeth” are less mineralized than adult teeth, they can quickly get cavities. Your dentist will identify this early decay and help reverse the process.

We recommend you schedule your child’s first visit to the dentist within six months of receiving their first tooth. If your son or daughter doesn’t have teeth by their first birthday, they should visit the dentist as well.

WHY BOTHER IF MY CHILD ONLY HAS “BABY TEETH?”

Primary, or “baby,” teeth can be present for up to 12 years. Teeth with cavities, regardless of your age, can become infected. This can pose a serious risk to your child’s health and hinder the development of their adult teeth. In addition, broken or decaying teeth often influence how a child feels about themselves and how they interact with others.

START YOUR CHILD ON THE PATH TO A HEALTHY SMILE AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

At Third Street Dental, we make the very first visit as fun and exciting as possible, with cartoons, prizes, balloon animals, and more. If your child is very young they will be comfortable in your arms throughout the visit. Older children will have the opportunity to go for a “ride” in our dental chair. Once your child is comfortable, we count your child’s teeth, check their oral hygiene, give them a light cleaning and provide you with tips on caring for your child’s teeth. Of course, no visit would be complete without one of our dental goodie bags, filled with an age-specific toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, prizes, and animal balloons!

Third Street Dental will be your partner in the process. Our friendly, caring staff will alleviate any fear or anxiety kids feel about visiting the dentist. By making the experience fun and relaxed, children will look forward to their next visit! Call us to schedule an appointment today.
